Xokhi 2.0 is here. We tested, we learned, we simplified.
When we started Xokhi, we had a simple idea: build something useful for local communities.
But instead of assuming what people needed, we wanted to test the idea first.
So, we experimented with different categories, different ways of sharing information, different ways of searching and different ways of navigating the platform. We looked at what people actually used, where they faced friction and which problems had a genuine need for a simpler solution.
That process taught us a lot.
More importantly, it helped us identify four areas where Xokhi could genuinely be useful:
- Rent & PG
- Health & Medicine
- Lost & Found
- Local information and community help
These became the foundation of Xokhi 2.0.
But among them, one area stood out particularly strongly.
Rentals.
Why we are putting more focus on rentals
Finding a room, flat or PG in Guwahati can still be unnecessarily difficult.
A student looking for a PG may search through multiple Facebook groups. A working professional looking for a room or 1 BHK may ask friends, scroll through rental posts and call multiple numbers. A family searching for a 2 BHK or house for rent may have to do the same.
Then there is the question of brokers.
Brokers can be useful, but many people simply want to find a property directly from an owner. On the other side, property owners with vacant rooms, flats, houses and PGs are also looking for genuine tenants.
So you have two sides:
An owner has a property.
Someone needs that property.
Yet finding each other can still be surprisingly difficult.
That is one of the problems we want Xokhi to help solve.
Making rental discovery simpler in Guwahati
With Xokhi 2.0, Rent & PG is one of our primary areas of focus.
Property owners can list available rooms, flats, houses and PGs. Tenants can search through available listings or post what they are looking for. People who know about a genuine vacant property can also share the information.
The idea is straightforward: create another useful place where rental information can be discovered and where genuine owners and tenants can connect directly.
Whether someone is searching for a room for rent in Guwahati, a 1 BHK, a 2 BHK, a PG near their college or workplace, or a house for their family, they should have a simple place to start.
And if an owner has a vacant property, listing it should be just as easy.
But Xokhi is bigger than rentals

That is why Xokhi 2.0 continues with three other core areas.

Useful local information around medicines, healthcare and related services can be difficult to find when you actually need it. Xokhi provides a place to discover and share this information.
Lost & Found
Lost something? Found something that belongs to someone else?
A simple community post can potentially help connect the right people.
Local Information & Help
Not every problem fits neatly into a category. Sometimes you simply need to ask your community, share something useful or help someone nearby.
Xokhi gives those conversations a place too.
What changed in Xokhi 2.0?
One of the biggest things we learned during testing was that adding more features does not necessarily make a platform better.
Sometimes, the best improvement is simply making the important things easier.
So Xokhi 2.0 focuses on the fundamentals:
- Easier navigation
- Simpler posting
- More straightforward search
- Cleaner user experience
- Clearer categories
- A simpler way to discover and share local information
You shouldn't need a tutorial to list a rental property.
You shouldn't need to figure out a complicated interface just to search for a PG.
The basic experience should be simple:
Find what you need.
Share what you know.
Built through testing. Now built with the community.
Xokhi 2.0 is not something we consider finished.
It is the next stage.
The first version helped us understand what worked, what didn't and where the real opportunities were. Xokhi 2.0 is our attempt to take those learnings and build a more focused platform around them.
Now, the next part depends on the community.
